SAMED issues press release on outstanding payment by Gauteng Health

6 February 2014: SAMED issues press release on outstanding payment by Gauteng Health

Whilst SAMED acknowledges the various steps taken by the Gauteng Health Department to resolve ongoing late payments ie the establishment of a health processing centre, the implementation of a new process for dealing with medical devices bought on consignment and the appointment of PwC to assist the department with process re-engineering across 5 main work streams which includes assistance to the GDoH with the implementation of their turnaround strategy and the improvement of service delivery at hospitals, feedback from our members is that the situation has deteriorated in the last few months.

Gauteng Health is once again behind on payments and not able to honour the 30 day payment requirement of the PPFMA. ’
