Khatija Suleman

Khatija Suleman is a seasoned regulatory and compliance expert with over 25 years of experience across the pharmaceutical, medical device, and biopharmaceutical industries. She currently serves as the Head of Regulatory Affairs for Africa at BD, where she leads regional compliance, regulatory strategy, and stakeholder engagement.

Khatija’s career spans leadership roles in regulatory affairs, quality assurance, pharmacovigilance, and medical affairs at prominent organisations such as Ascendis Medical and the National Bioproducts Institute. She has played a pivotal role in regulatory frameworks, quality management systems (ISO 13485), and public-private sector collaborations across Sub-Saharan Africa.

She holds a Master of Medical Science in Pharmacology and a BSc in Pharmacy. Khatija is also a licensed pharmacist and an active contributor to international regulatory forums. Her passion for innovation, ethics, and healthcare system strengthening is matched by her expertise in aligning compliance with commercial and public health goals.
