Stuart BlackbeardHead of Department: Sales & Engineering Southern Implants
Stuart Blackbeard is a Mechanical Engineer that leads Southern Implants’ Sales & Engineering department, a unique function that focuses on making design updates to existing products based on customer feedback as well as co-creating brand new products with leading clinicians globally. His professional interests are novel dental implant prototypes, guided surgery, digital dentistry and associated devices and technologies. Prior to his current role, he led sales teams in both the US and Australia and spent time in Canada investigating antimicrobial coatings for medical devices. As a student, he also spent time within Southern’s manufacturing plants which has provided him with in-depth working knowledge on Southern’s end-to-end manufacturing process.
Stuart Blackbeard achieved his Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Cape Town in 2013 and his Post Graduate Diploma in Business Administration from Gordon Institute of Business Science (GIBS) in 2019.
