Celebrating Women in Medtech!
You’re Invited to the 2025 Women in Medtech Forum (in-Person Event)
As part of our 40th anniversary celebrations and in honour of Women’s Month, SAMED is proud to host a powerful gathering of women and men who are shifting paradigms and reimagining leadership in the medtech industry.
Join us for an inspiring and thought-provoking Women in Medtech Forum, a space dedicated to celebrating the women who are doing the shadow work to transform our industry, creating room not just for themselves but for generations to come.
Our headline speaker, Nikki Bush, award-winning speaker and 5-time best-selling author, will open the forum with her signature keynote, “Which Jacket Are You Wearing Now?”. Nikki will then guide an engaging panel discussion on:
“Breaking Bias: Disrupting the Status Quo in Leadership and Business”
This session will unpack the invisible barriers women face and how we can collectively challenge outdated norms, amplify new voices, and redesign the future of medtech leadership.
Why does diversity in medtech matter?
Diversity isn’t just a moral imperative; it’s a business one. Greater representation of women leads to stronger governance, better decision-making, and improved health outcomes. However, retaining women in the workforce, especially in leadership roles, remains a global challenge.
According to McKinsey & Company’s Women in the Workplace 2025 report, while hiring women into entry-level roles is improving, attrition is rising across the leadership pipeline. Many women are stepping away due to slow progress in inclusive leadership, burnout, and unbalanced caregiving burdens, trends that echo in our own context here in South Africa.
SAMED is addressing this head-on through our Women Empowerment Index, which currently reflects data from 29 participating companies. We will share key findings from the Index during the forum, offering a clearer picture of the patterns, progress, and persistent gaps in our sector.
Who should attend?
Women and men in medtech, at every level, who are building more equitable and empowering workplaces. If you’re ready to challenge the status quo and be part of a community that uplifts, connects, and transforms, this is your space.
Let’s celebrate Women’s Month by taking bold steps forward, together!
