In 2012, after extensive evaluation of existing international credentialing systems, SAMED together with the training partner, Masoom Training Solutions, launched a national standardised accreditation system which came to be called CRICE.

This collaborative project is designed and implemented with input from all key stakeholders including hospital groups, healthcare practitioners and supplier companies.

In light of coronavirus COVID-19, it is important to note that CRICE provides reassurance that company representatives have undergone training on infection control practices, have had necessary vaccinations and have declared in writing their responsibility to disclose reportable infectious diseases.

In 2020, CRICE launched the CRICE mobile app which is available on iStore and PlayStore. The Digital CRICE Access control system enables hospitals to implement CRICE more easily and thus monitor and secure compliance.

To date, 4609 company representatives from 454 companies across medical device, IVD and pharmaceutical sectors have been migrated to the mobile app. Wilmed Park Hospital is the latest to implement CRICE as a means of control and monitoring of company representatives in its institution.
