Lesley Scott is an Associate Professor and Head of Research and Development in the Department of Molecular Medicine and Haematology and iLEAD (Innovation in Laboratory Engineered Accelerated Diagnostics) in the School of Pathology, Faculty of Health Science at the University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg in South Africa. Lesley has a PhD in Molecular Medicine with >25 year of experience in accelerating innovative HIV and TB diagnostics and quality programs from concept to implementation followed by continuous quality monitoring. In April 2020 Lesley and her team applied their evaluation protocols to COVID19 to assist in recommendation for medical devices regulation.
