Dr Ayanda Mbuli General Manager: GEMS Fund Management, Medscheme
Dr Ayanda Mbuli completed her MBChB at Stellenbosch University. She then completed her internship and community service in Johannesburg. Dr Mbuli practiced medicine at a number of government hospitals before she went into the private sector after dedicating years of her career to both the public and private sector of medicine, Dr Mbuli then moved into managed healthcare.

She has a PGDip in Health Economics obtained at University of Cape Town as well as a PGDIP in General Management Gordon Institute of Business Science (GIBS) which is the business school for the University of Pretoria. She joined the AfroCentric Group in 2022 as the General Manger for the Health Policy Unit and Medical Advisory with a key focus to Reimagine, Rethink and Rebuild health policy through innovation, collaboration and thought leadership whilst promoting access, balancing equity and fairness with patient and provider autonomy and scheme sustainability and has more recently been seconded to General Manager for GEMS Fund Management. In the last year she has featured in various radio and print interviews discussing important health topics.
