As members navigate the considerations and processes for implementing mandatory vaccination policies, SAMED has issued a position on mandating vaccines. SAMED, informed by expert counsel and considering the legal framework, has decided that it is not SAMED’s mandate to pass opinion on either members or other stakeholder vaccination policies. SAMED has supported members by facilitating forums on pertinent legal frameworks and current case studies. It is the Members’ responsibility to make their own informed decisions on mandating vaccines for their staff or vendors. SAMED has included guidance with the position paper to further assist members.
