A year of SAMED-YES partnership boosts our industry and healthcare delivery
Partnering with the Youth Employment Service has been a passion project for SAMED. Together with YES, we celebrate the first anniversary of our partnership aimed at making a meaningful impact in both youth employment and empowerment, and in organisational transformation.
Through this collaboration, almost 2 000 youth jobs have been created by 33 YES-registered SAMED members. This has translated into over a R100 million injected into local economies through YES youth salaries.
A new element that will be introduced to the programme in early 2023 will continue the momentum. The SAMED Alumni Project will see the creation of a SAMEDxYES alumni database that contains professional profiles of youth not yet absorbed from the YES programme. This will help SAMED members to provide them with jobs and give the alumni another pathway to deepen their participation in the medtech labour market.
