SAMED partnered with the Youth Employment Services (YES) in August to give the gift of employment to South African Youth while capacitating the healthcare sector.
Since the launch, SAMED 5 SAMED members have signed up to YES. This has created 169 work opportunities for unemployed youth. In total, 29 members are registered with YES and have created over a thousand work experiences contributing over R66 million in salaries! This is a good start to this partnership, but we call on those who have not yet done so, to sign up with YES.
This feeds into the CEO challenge launched at the SAMED year-end member meeting and a broader transformation drive to improve BBBEE standings in the medtech sector.
