SAMED would like to congratulate Ian Wakefield, Country Manager at Becton Dickinson Africa on being nominated as a board member of SAMED. Ian will serve as a member of the SAMED Board until the 2024 Annual General Meeting.
Ian brings with him knowledge, leadership and experience. Ian is a medical scientist by training and has extensive experience working in the healthcare sector in Africa.
Ian strives to create a culture of transparency and trust within the organisations and teams that he is part of. He finds value in diversity of people and has actively advocated for greater diversity in the sector. Ian has previously served on the boards of the South African Laboratory Diagnostics Association and the American Chamber of Commerce in South Africa.
We welcome Ian and look forward to his further contributions to SAMED and industry through his position on the SAMED Board.
