The Code prohibits all types of gift that may be given to a HCP and it would not be appropriate to give gifts to mark significant life events such as a marriage, birth or birthday. However, in the case of death, it is for each company to determine the appropriateness of making a tasteful gift to direct family members only, as a mark of respect.
